SenSage First To Ship Enterprise Security Analytics Software Solution For Expansive SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Market

SenSage Achieves Novell Ready for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server; Brings Scalable Log Management and Accelerated Security Decision Support To SUSE Linux Platform

SAN FRANCISO, CA - February 28, 2006 - SenSage, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise security analytics, today introduced SenSage for Novell's SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. SenSage enables organizations to achieve and maintain compliance with the growing number of government and industry-specific compliance regulations that mandate or recommend long-term retention and analysis of event log data. SenSage, a complete log management and security decision support solution now supports the expansive SUSE Linux Enterprise Server market and has achieved Novell Ready for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

SenSage is peerless in delivering the combination of event-data collection, compression, retention and analytics. The SenSage appliance-like architecture enables unparalleled precision, long-term search and trending against terabytes of event log data, while providing significant storage optimization and operational savings.

"The market's embrace of open source, together with strides towards integration and open-source support, have helped to expand corporate adoption of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server," said Scott Crawford, senior analyst at Enterprise Management Associates. "Security Decision Support Systems, such as SenSage, will require adequate processing power to consistently analyze stored event log data. SenSage's decision to support SUSE as an operating platform and log source should well serve compliance information management efforts within the SUSE Linux community."

Compliance Information Management

Companies are implementing compliance information management strategies to reduce risks and adhere to standards. The security best practice requires that an organization fully collect, monitor and preserve log data generated by network devices, security applications, systems and business applications. The goal is to be able to continually assess corporate security posture, track internal violations and external threats, complete regular audits and demonstrate compliance due care. Unfortunately, as log volumes expand, the process often consumes storage capacity, processing power and administrative resources. SenSage overcomes the data management challenge and costs associated with aggregating, storing and analyzing enormous amounts of event log data.

"We were attracted to the SenSage solution due to its broad device support, performance, cross-correlation, robust reporting, storage optimization and scalability," said Greg Harris, security analyst at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. "We look forward to implementing SenSage's log management and analytics solution, in our SUSE Linux Enterprise Sever environment, to fortify our HIPAA audit practices."

SenSage and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server

SenSage takes full advantage of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, employing parallel processing and a centralized, clustered analytic repository that yields linear scalability and high availability. This ensures consistent results as the data store and query use grows while negating potential administrative burdens associated with database management, distributed appliances and local data stores.

"Novell continues to attract top tier solutions supporting SUSE Linux Enterprise Server which in turn extends our customers value and choice," said Bob Lindquist, Novell's global director of partner programs and products. "Security, compliance and availability are key requirements for our enterprise customers. With SenSage now supporting SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, our customers have more choices for compliance information management solutions."

The solution supports flexible deployment and captures massive volumes of event log data from the broadest number of sources including SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. SenSage' high-speed correlation bridges real-time alerts and historic investigation for greater user productivity - streamlining operational reporting, compliance monitoring and ad hoc audit. Now operating as a native SUSE Linux Enterprise Server application, customers can achieve even lower cost of ownership and convenient scalability for enterprise log management applications.

"We're responding to customer demand to add support for SenSage on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server," said Dan Barahona, director of business development at SenSage. "SenSage operating on the SUSE Linux Enterprise platform allows customers to use inexpensive hardware to cost-effectively manage, analyze and retain large volumes of event log data. SenSage and Novell are empowering our mutual customers with the means to accelerate security compliance and investigation processes."

Certification and Availability

SenSage is a Novell Silver Technology Partner and the SenSage enterprise security analytics solution has achieved the Novell Ready for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server designation. The Novell Ready mark is awarded to Independent Software Vendors to demonstrate that their solutions are compatible with Novell technologies and is supported by the vendor.

SenSage for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 is generally available. The software operates on inexpensive, commercial off-the-shelf platforms supporting appliance-like deployment and configuration. The SenSage software can be placed on one system, or components can be distributed across multiple systems for scalable performance, high availability, distributed data collection and consistent analysis.

SenSage is priced starting at $70,000; with total price determined by performance, retention, distribution and source-type requirements. The solution can be complemented with SenSage Analytics Packages for Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, FFIEC and other compliance guidelines. SenSage is available direct from SenSage and through selected partners.
