Tokyo Electron (TEL) and Sensage Partner To Bring Security Analytics And Log Management To Japan

Japanese Market Leader in Security, Networking and Storage to Help Enterprises Meet Mounting Security, SOX and Data Privacy Regulatory Compliance

TOKYO, JAPAN and SAN FRANCISO, CA - January 23, 2006 - Tokyo Electron Ltd., a leading Japanese provider of security, networking and storage solutions, and SenSage, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise security analytics, today announced an exclusive distribution agreement in which Tokyo Electron (TEL) will actively market, sell and support SenSage's scalable security analytics solutions in Japan.

New Japanese and global compliance requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and the Japan Personal Information Protection Act, have accelerated security analytics and data management requirements. SenSage's award-winning security analytics solutions enable organizations to achieve compliance with the growing number of government regulations and industry directives that mandate or strongly recommend monitoring, analyzing and managing security event data.

The event log data, which is generated by network devices, security applications, host operating systems, and business applications, represents a rich information asset. To follow best security practices and regulatory requirements, companies must effectively manage this event log data in order to continually assess their security posture, reduce internal security threats and data privacy leakage risks, and maintain auditable records.

Because infrastructures can generate terabytes of security information, it is very difficult and expensive to capture, retain and analyze this data using conventional RDBMS-based or distributed datastore-based Security Information Management (SIM) approaches. SenSage overcomes these challenges with an enterprise-scalable solution that reduces management costs and provides the industry's most scalable means to centrally aggregate, efficiently analyze, dynamically monitor and cost-effectively store high-volumes of event log data.

"We see growing interest among our partners and customers for solutions that help them cope with the event log data management issues regarding data leakage, security risk reduction and compliance," said Vic Amano, vice president and general manager of TEL's Computer Network Division. "After investigating available products and through rigorous testing, we are confident that SenSage will enable our clients to more effectively address their performance, scale and long-term retention requirements, as well as fortify their overall compliance and security efforts."

TEL has a pioneering reputation for introducing numerous leading-edge security and storage technologies to the Japanese market. TEL Computer Networks Division (CND) has over 20 years of experience as a Japanese distributor in various market segments spanning networking, security, storage, servers and middleware, representing products from Brocade Communications, F5 Networks, Hewlett-Packard, nCipher Corporation and Juniper Networks among others. TEL serves many large, well known Japanese customers such as Fujitsu, Hitachi, NEC, NTT, Panasonic and Sony.

"TEL is a recognized, trusted leader in providing innovative security and storage solutions and services, and we are excited about this strategic partnership," said Jim Pflaging, president and chief executive offer at SenSage. "We are confident in TEL's ability to expand our sales and support customers in Japan. We are also particularly encouraged by the immediate product interest among TEL's vendor and enterprise customers."
